In brief

The best bike tours to discover Europe

Every corner of Europe has something unique to offer. We’re sure you’ll enjoy the easy-to-ride routes of each country and region, as they all have their own network of official bike paths. You can cover great distances with little effort, ride through less-traveled areas, stop whenever you like, and connect with locals and fellow cyclists. Needless to say, the ride gets a whole lot easier if everything’s been taken care of before you even start pedaling. From the Netherlands to Italy: it’s time to discover our selection of the best cycling itineraries in Europe!

Tours

Italy (27 tours)

Italy’s most popular long-distance bicycle routes take you from the Adige river to the Dolomites, to Lake Garda, and all around the Adriatic. There are shorter bike routes as well, such as the well-known ride from Peschiera to Mantova. Last but not least, don’t forget about the hill towns and art cities all around Tuscany. They are part of our Girolibero mapped network, so they’re definitely worth considering if you’re interested in cycling in Italy.

France (7 tours)

France’s cycling routes branch out between ocean and mountains, along great rivers, and in the heart of historic cities. Explore the Loire Valley by bike, or get your wheels spinning for the Véloscénie; a route that takes you from Paris to the Mont Saint-Michel, via Chartres and Normandy. Lastly, the ViaRhôna takes you along the Rhone from the mountains to the Camargue region. Learn more about our cycle tours in France.

The Netherlands (10 tours)

Bike paths in the Netherlands run through cities and the countryside for roughly 19,000 miles, and riding a bike is the perfect way to get to know this completely flat country. Explore the Netherlands by bike and you’ll soon discover this country has much more to offer than just Amsterdam and tulips. In the North, you’ll find the dunes of Texel and the Frisian Islands, and a bit more to the South, you’ll be enchanted by small historic cities like Delft and Haarlem. Finally, enjoy a relaxing few days in modern and lively cities like Utrecht and Rotterdam. Read more about our cycling holidays in the Netherlands.

This bike and barge trip was a perfect way to see Provence. The route took us through areas that were filled with ancient sites, vineyards, farmland, and small villages that you would not see going any other way. The crew was amazing, the food fantastic with great presentation. The bikes are well maintained and makes riding easy. We rode the electric bikes. The barge L’Estella is well maintained with a nice gathering area. However the cabins are small, but did have good storage. I highly recommend Girolibero for this bike trip!
