Small river cruises
Feels like home
Explore canals, rivers, and the Venice Lagoon on an intimate cruise for 24-30 guests. Discover cities of art along the itinerary, as well as charming hidden towns, and enjoy authentic cultural experiences that will bring you into contact with locals and places that most tourists never see. Our barges will be your floating hotel, with comfortable cabins and excellent cuisine on board.
Food
Onboard kitchen
Fresh and local ingredients and traditional recipes are prepared by the chefs with care and passion (very limited use of frozen and industrial food). Some of their dishes have made it into a cookbook by popular demand. Browse through a preview of our cookbook.
Itinerary
Inland towns, Po Delta and the Venice Lagoon
Sail along inland waterways, canals and rivers between Mantua, the natural wonders of Po Delta, Venice and Grado. Thanks to their size, our barges can easily navigate between various moorings, on calm waters and shallow depths, inaccessible to larger cruise ships.
Events
Venues and Festivities
Experience unmissable events in Venice up close, from the most famous ones such as the carnival in February to the lesser known ones such as the Festa del Redentore in July.
Business and private events
Incentive and team building initiatives, meetings, conventions, corporate incentive activities, or even large family reunions, weddings and anniversaries: our barges are the perfect accommodation for pre-established groups.
CREW
Local staff
A crew of local sourced and well-trained travel professionals will be awaiting you on board; like a well-oiled machine that feels almost like family. Our captain, chefs, and stewards are the first to get up in the morning and the last to go to bed at night, coordinating your daily activities. They’ll be happy to share a relaxing moment with you as well, and above all, they love to spoil their guests on board.

Ship captain, motorist, and diver. I love a good glass of Mantova doc, paired with the delicious salami I make with my father.

I love cooking, but more so eating dessert. My specialty is pannacotta with lemon and basil.

Ave Maria is a comfortable river cruise ship made in Italy, built with innovative solutions and where materials were chosen with aesthetics and comfort in mind. It is also a small barge capable of passing under low bridges and sailing on shallow water, typical of Italian waterways. The barge was custom-built using the salvaged hull of a Po River dredge.
All in strict compliance with new and stricter safety and eco-friendly standards.
Ave Maria is an “environmentally sustainable” boat due to energy conservation on
board, purification of dark water, and navigation that does not damage the shores. View more details
